Sea Day 2 - Relaxation and Inadvertent Debauchery!

I woke up late morning/early afternoon. The sun was bright and it was a beautiful day outside. At this point, we were somewhere near Florida.

The further south we went the calmer the seas became.

Although the seas were calm, my head wasn't. Hangovers are a bitch. We ventured into the buffet in the mid-afternoon to get some "medicine".

Chili dog, meatballs, bread, and meat. YOU GOT ANY BETTER IDEAS!?

It was absolutely delicious. The food filled me up juuuuust right. Right enough, in fact, that I felt charged enough to grab a frozen cocktail at the bar!

Some sort of passion fruit concoction. Nothing cures a hangover like more drinking, amiright?

It was a beautiful day. So we lounged on the pool deck, lounged on our balcony, lounged in the outdoor cafe, and lounged where ever we felt it appropriate. That included the bar and in the middle of the jogging track. I am nothing if not an inconvenience. Sam and I promised ourselves we would take it easy today, and it all seemed to be going according to plan. In the early evening we hopped into the jacuzzi.

mmm hot water and powerful jets pummeling my body from every direction...

Sam had an interesting idea to switch between the hot jacuzzi and the cold pool water. The particular pool we were near was a salt water pool. So as we gave our muscles a make over, the salt in the water exfoliated our skin.

It was also the worst thing in the world to accidentally get in your mouth.

After swimming, we went back to the cabin to change for dinner. We made reservations at the Grand Pacific. That was one of their largest main dining rooms. We had to look nice-nice.

Or at least try. Sam can't go one day without showing his cleavage SOMEWHERE.

I loved the style of the restaurant. It had this 1920's, art deco atmosphere.

We even had a genuine flapper to greet us! I hope she was encased in carbonite quickly... I wonder what she's looking for? Her man? Her band? Long-term financial stability in a pre-Depression era? Let's hope that.

The food around us looked and smelled fantastic. For an appetizer, I ordered the prosciutto with melon.

One of my all time favorites!

As my main course, I got lamb with pureed sweet potato on a three bean stew of some sort. It was awesome. We ordered towards the end of the night, and our server brought us over an extra dish, chicken with rosemary and vegetables. I guessed they had a lot of extra food and were giving away extra so as not to waste?

Hey, I don't hate it. BUT SO MUCH FOOD!! My stomach exploded.

After my stomach exploded, I ordered dessert.

Vanilla bread pudding a la mode with caramel sauce.

After dinner, we headed over to the Bliss Lounge for a nightcap. Just one drink and bed, we told ourselves. Then our new friends showed up. They're a barrel of laughs and fun so one drink turned into... oh, I don't know... six? Sam even ended up playing air hockey at some point...

He rocked it, too! Then there was dancing and lights and the only photo I took was this:

I look like a piranha with an overbite. Sam, you look grand.

Around 2 or 3 am, we stumbled back to the cabin. On the way, we passed the 24-hour diner restaurant, the Blue Lagoon. We couldn't resist the temptation of getting free food. So we ordered and took a feast back to the room.

Sad thing is, we. ate. all. of. it.

Cheesecake, spinach and artichoke dip, buffalo wings, and who knows what else. This cruise, I swear, made me gain at least thirty pounds.
