Last day of being 24 AUGH

Today I woke up to a delicious breakfast courtesy of the world renowned chef and culinary artist, Stephanie Fraioli.

Omelet with mushrooms and bell peppers and a cute little fruit salad!

Stephanie had to go to a mandatory meeting on base. So Michelle and I decided to hang around Kaiserslautern and explore the neighborhood until she got back! We walked down the street and discovered a wall that appeared to be the ruins of a large building. The plaque on the edge of it was only in German so I have no idea what this structure could have been.

But it looked pretty cool

There was a map nearby and we realized that there was Japanese garden only a few blocks away. So we ventured into it.

A Japanese Garden was just too tempting to pass up..

It was about 4.50 euro per person, which wasn't bad. And once we got inside, we were greeted by some stone feet.

Built by aliens.

All around the garden were these great little Buddha statues.

Pretty and tranquil. Aliens?

The gardens were beautiful. They had multiple pathways winding around several ponds and waterfalls.

Great place to relax and meditate. If they only sold wine...

There was also a nice rock garden.

Mm. Rocks. Delicious.

Then we found more ponds and some trickling water!

I NEED MORE!!

AND A WATERFALL.

AND IT WAS SPECTACULAR.

HERE'S ANOTHER ONE LOOK AT IT LOOOOOK AAAATT IIIIITTTT

I kinda wanted to jump in..

Some of the statues had offerings presented in front of it.

This one had chestnuts. Delicious.

Then we got to the part of the garden with all the Koi, or goldfish in it.

A lot.. of.. freakin.. goldfish..

OH AND THEN THIS GIRL DECIDED TO STICK HER HAND IN THE POND AND PET THE CARP LIKE THEY WERE PUPPIES.

I hope she enjoys the smell of her hands later.

Then once she was done wreaking havoc on the garden, peace was once again restored.

for a little while at least...

Until Michelle decided to go through a tiny door.

It was designed to fit her and only her.

And then I became Emperor of the Gardens.

Bow down to me, or my Japanese Maple Trees WILL DESTROY YOU.

THEN. THERE. WERE. MORE. WATERFALLS.

Excuse me, can I have some more waterfalls please?

...and more... water...falls...

Okay, great thanks.

After the garden we walked back to the center of town and decided the explore the "walk platz".

Basically the downtown area of K-town

We saw the local Cathedral.

Its bells never rang frequently enough. JUST KIDDING THEY RANG ALL THE TIME.

Then as we walked along we saw this guy floating on thin air.

He was just so happy to see us

Then we passed a bar and I found the following:

You do, though. You really do.

These will no doubt help me in the future.

At the end of the platz, we happened upon a large fountain.

Town fountain?

Where they had these funny metal costume things.

Where I could be a Lady in distress!

Or a wise and dignified Lord.

And then there was a fish. AND I RODE IT.

WEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee

Nearby was this awesome building.

I thought it'd be a museum. NOPE just an office building.

Then we walked back to the apartment, met up with Stephanie, and went out for dinner. I once again got A GIANT BEER.

I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH.

And got this amazing gigantic heap of basically macaroni and cheese topped with caramelized onions.

OMNOMNOM

After dinner we all went back to the apartment to get to sleep early. Tomorrow, (my birthday), is a VERY busy day!!
